In 1968, Ostling Marking Systems sold its first electrolytic etching system to the Sandvik Company, one of the world's largest carbide tool producers. Through innovations such as corrosion-free electrolytes and stencils with long life and high durability, Ostling continued to grow its customer and product base in the electrolytic marking industry. In 1979, the company headquarters was established in Solingen, Germany, to provide electrolytic etching systems to the conglomerate of cutlery manufacturers in the area.

Since the establishment of Ostling's headquarters in Solingen, the product line has grown to include a full range of marking systems: advanced technologies in laser marking, dot peen marking and our world class electrolytic etching systems. Currently, Ostling delivers these technologies all across the globe.
