Blog Trade Shows

SHOT Show 2026 was a strong showing for TYKMA Electrox, focused on how modern laser engraving systems perform in real production environments. From Cerakote Laser Imaging on titanium to robotic automation and a live system giveaway, the week highlighted practical applications, proven partnerships, and scalable solutions for manufacturers.

Laser Engraving Systems on Display at SHOT Show 2026

At SHOT Show, TYKMA Electrox showcased two Minilase XL Manual laser engraving systems configured with Precision Max technology, each featuring a 12″ x 12″ marking field.

One Minilase XL operated in the TYKMA Electrox booth, marking a large metal plate to demonstrate our proprietary calibration technology for large field marking applications. The second Minilase XL ran live in the Cerakote booth, configured specifically for Cerakote Laser Imaging and color marking on titanium pry bars.

This setup allowed attendees to see how the same laser platform adapts to different production requirements, coatings, and workflows across different booth environments.

Cerakote Laser Imaging on Titanium

Laser color marking on cerakoted titanium pry bar

In Cerakote’s booth, the Minilase XL demonstrated Cerakote Laser Imaging by marking patterns on titanium pry bars finished with Cerakote coatings. For the logo marking, the laser was tuned to ablate the Cerakote layers to expose the titanium substrate. Controlled laser heat is then used to color the titanium itself, producing a gold-toned mark directly in the metal.

This process delivers several advantages for production environments:

  • Permanent markings with no inks or consumables
  • High contrast and repeatability
  • Seamless integration into Cerakote-coated manufacturing workflows

The live demonstration reinforced why Cerakote Laser Imaging has become a preferred solution for manufacturers combining coated parts with durable laser marking.

Automation and Robotics Integration with Minilase

UR Cobot with Minilase Automation Mode for automatic laser marking and engraving of metal

TYKMA Electrox also demonstrated laser automation in action. A Minilase™ system was shown operating in automation mode, being loaded and unloaded by a UR collaborative robot.

This automated configuration was developed in partnership with In-Position Technologies and Innovative Cutting Systems, illustrating how TYKMA laser systems integrate into robotic cells and automated production lines.

The demonstration highlighted:

  • Scalable laser engraving for higher throughput
  • Compatibility with robotic handling systems
  • Flexible integration for custom manufacturing environments

For manufacturers planning to move from manual marking to automated production, this setup provided a clear, real-world example.

The page explains how TYKMA Electrox laser systems integrate with collaborative robots, PLCs, and automated production lines to enable scalable, hands-free laser engraving in manufacturing environments.

Custom Virtus Laser Giveaway with Cerakote

In collaboration with Cerakote®, TYKMA Electrox also promoted and awarded a custom Virtus laser engraver during SHOT Show 2026. The system was fully Cerakoted by Cerakote and displayed throughout the event.

On the final day of the show, the giveaway winner was contacted and invited to the booth for a live handoff, including photos and video captured on the show floor. The moment highlighted the strength of the partnership and the shared focus on delivering production-ready laser systems to customers.

Customer Conversations from SHOT Show 2026

In addition to live system demonstrations and automation showcases, TYKMA Electrox captured on-site interviews with customers throughout SHOT Show 2026. These conversations focus on real-world laser applications, production challenges, and why customers choose TYKMA Electrox systems for their operations.

The customer interview videos are currently in post-production and will be released soon. Each spotlight will provide deeper insight into how TYKMA laser engraving systems are being used on the manufacturing floor across firearms, defense, and industrial applications.

As new customer videos are published, this page will continue to be updated with additional SHOT Show 2026 content.

Laser Marking Heat Transfer Labels (Supplier Showcase)

Franz Barta Minilase LBL at SHOT Show 2026 Supplier Showcase

At SHOT Show 2026, Franz Barta showcased an ink-free laser marking process for permanent heat transfer labels used in industrial textiles and protective equipment. Using a TYKMA Electrox Minilase LBL laser marking system with a 20W MOPA fiber laser, variable data such as serial numbers, sizes, and lot codes are laser marked directly into the label. The laser reacts with a proprietary pigment compound, producing high-contrast, permanent marks in seconds. This process eliminates ink and consumables while improving durability and traceability.

Spartan Blades Customer Testimonial

Spartan Blades laser engraved and color marked titanium knives

At SHOT Show 2026, we captured a customer testimonial with Spartan Blades highlighting how laser engraving is used in real knife production. In the video, Spartan Blades explains how they use TYKMA laser systems for deep engraving, layered artwork, and titanium color marking on production knives. By applying different DXF layers and laser parameters, they’re able to control depth, contrast, and color without inks or consumables. You can read the full customer testimonial and application breakdown in our dedicated post on laser engraving knives.

Cerakote Laser Imaging Demonstration with Precision Max™ Technology

Cerakote laser imaged rifle stock shot show 2026

One of the standout demonstrations at SHOT Show 2026 was live Cerakote Laser Imaging on a 19-inch firearm McMillan chassis using the Minilase™ XL MFSS laser engraving system.

Powered by Precision Max™ technology, the MFSS scan head maintained tight spot size and consistent mark placement across the full surface geometry. By leveraging dynamic focus control, the system processed each side of the Cerakoted chassis in approximately 1 minute and 15 seconds.

  • No masking.
  • No spraying.
  • No secondary finishing.

The demonstration highlighted how manufacturers can move from coated to patterned parts in production-ready cycle times while maintaining micron-level accuracy across larger marking fields.

Chris Reeve Knives on Laser Engraving Knives in Production

Chris Reeve Knives Laser Engraved Knives

At SHOT Show 2026, we connected with Chris Reeve Knives to discuss how they use TYKMA fiber laser systems in daily production. Their Zetalase™ XL runs continuously in their facility, supporting deep engraving, model identification, steel type markings, military designations, and custom knife engravings.

As Tim Reeve explains, their laser operates “all day, every day into the night quite often.” That level of reliability is critical in a production knife manufacturing environment where marks must remain sharp even after tumbling, blasting, or coating.
