Precision Max™ Laser Marking Technology
Precision Max is our latest calibration breakthrough for laser marking systems — delivering micron-level accuracy for industries where precision is important. Using our latest proprietary calibration techniques, Precision Max provides unmatched laser precision and accuracy for challenging applications.
- New scan heads: MFSS and LFSS options
- Micron-level accuracy and repeatability

What is Precision Max Technology?
Precision Max uses a proprietary multi-point calibration process that dynamically corrects lens distortion and field non-linearity, ensuring micron-level accuracy across the full scan field.
Precision Max simplifies demanding applications such as measurement device marking, resistor trimming, and PCB trace identification — where accurate marking placement is critical.
Upgraded Scan Heads
Medium Field Small Spot (MFSS)
Upgrading to the MFSS (Medium Field) Galvanometer Scan Head, Precision Max can achieve < +/- 0.001” (+/- 25um) across a marking field of 12” x 12” (305mm x 305mm).
Large Field Small Spot (LFSS)
Upgrading to the LFSS (Large Field) Galvanometer Scan Head, Precision Max can achieve < +/- 0.003” (+/- 76um) across a marking field of 24” x 24” (610mm x 610mm).
Compatible Systems Featuring Precision Max Integration
Precision Max is available on most of our standard product workstations with a programmable Z-Axis. This includes:

Precision Max Applications: Where Accuracy Matters Most
This technology is ideal for medical and industrial industries requiring marking highly accurate and repeatable graduations where tight tolerances are required.
With the ultra-high accuracy of Precision Max, it allows for high accuracy marking to enable processing on extremely small products, such as I/C chips. This is especially helpful in applications where multiple parts are marked at the same time, such as array marking.
Without Precision Max, tolerances can drift across large fields—resulting in offset markings and inconsistent line placement. With Precision Max, ±25μm accuracy ensures repeatable precision, even across multi-part arrays or large-format marking jobs.

Precision Max for Minilase Pro 3 Software
Minilase Pro 3 must be used with Precision Max to enable the precise calibration formulas for extreme accuracy. Thanks to its 3-axis galvanometer scanning system, Minilase Pro 3 with Precision Max supports 3D part marking and large-field processing without compromising precision. Precision Max is only available with a programmable Z-Axis, as accurate focus is required to retain field accuracy.
