“I have a small engraving business and my original Raptor II was a big purchase for me. When it needed servicing, I shipped it out to Tykma Electrox in Ohio. Knowing I had orders piling up, Tykma rushed it through their lab and shipped it right back within 2 days. On the way back, the shipping company drove a forklift through it and totaled the machine. I was absolutely devastated as anyone could imagine.
I called Tykma immediately and they were about as incredulous as I was. Apparently I was a first. Adell and Shawn immediately got working on getting me a Minilase loaner machine and I was up and running in 2 weeks.
With some trepidation, I welcomed the Minilase into my shop. I was not psyched about learning new software and having to create all those jobs again. To my surprise, being a more powerful machine, I cut my engraving time down by half, got more precise with my layout of jobs using the trace feature, and stopped worrying about the issues I was experiencing with my older laser being serviced. With a little team viewer help from Shawn, the software was a snap. I began to hope I could keep this little buddy through some act of a miracle.
After the shipping insurance claim was settled, I shipped the damaged machine back to Tykma and anxiously awaited my fate. Several days later I got an excited call from Adell advising that they were able to fix my older machine that was damaged by the shipping company. What a surprise! But I don’t think I gave her the reaction she was quite expecting. At the risk of sounding ungrateful, I reluctantly told her I didn’t want my older technology machine back. I wanted to keep the Minilase.
Two days later, Adell called and said Dave (CEO) worked out an arrangement whereby I could keep the Minilase in trade for the now working Raptor II which would be used in their lab. Talk about a nightmare turning into an amazing dream. I was ecstatic, so very happy, and extremely appreciative of this company’s generosity and understanding when it comes to a small time business owner such as myself. Instead of capitalizing on my misfortune, Tykma took heart. I have to say that this is a company who cares, right down to the CEO, Dave Grimes. I highly recommend doing business with this company, buying a machine from them, and making use of their above and beyond customer service. Someone is always a phone call away when I have a software question. I have worked personally with several of Tykma’s tech experts and they know their stuff. Thanks, Paul, Shawn, Larry, Adell, and Dave for turning this thing around.”Karen Twombly, Silver Paw Pet Tags
“Many times requests will come in the form of a customer needing something, however, this is not one of those times. I find it very important to commend one of your employees SHAWN WALTON for his customer service. Shawn has been exceptional in his service with the Trulite DFW branch. His knowledge and professionalism is beyond reproach. Please send this comment to his managers/supervisor, it is well deserved. I would also like a follow up if possible. As the Branch Quality Manager I will always recommend TYKMA because of Shawn’s actions.”Joshua Jones, Trulite Glass and Aluminum
“As you are aware, PFL purchased a Tykma Lasermarking System from you in December and we could not be happier with the system we selected, its performance, and your support for our needs. As we waited for our unit to be delivered, we were able to fulfill our lasermarking needs through the systems in your office and a demo system we were able to employ. More importantly, our new system is 10-20X faster than the older YAG laser system we were using. Moreover, the Tykma system’s flexibility has allowed us to offer a host of value added services that has delighted our customers, and generated additional revenue for us. Thank you for being one of our valued suppliers and please let us know how we can help you in future initiatives.”David Diamond, CEO, Precision Fabricators
“James Tool was introduced to TYKMA Laser Systems as the result of meeting their representative at a Tool Show. We purchased the Zetalase Fiber for part identification. TYKMA personnel demonstrated outstanding knowledge of our industry and their products. Recently, a part (under warranty) needed to be replaced. The technician from TYKMA drove from Ohio to North Carolina to replace the part. Rarely do we see this level of commitment from our vendors. We are completely satisfied with TYKMA’s performance and we will use them to meet our laser needs in the future. They are fully committed to the interests of their customers and their team is enthusiastic and positive. It was a real pleasure to work with them.”Troy Crosby, Fixture Manage, James Tool Machine & Engineering, Inc.
“The TYKMA Minilase 20W fiber laser has been a great asset for us. We were able to quickly migrate our production from older laser technology to the Minilase. It produces a higher quality mark in less time. We run the machine two shifts per day and it is a key resource in our production process. I wish all of our equipment acquisitions were so productive in such a short time.”Tom Koenig, Manufacturing Manager, Spyderco
“The lasers we have purchased from Tykma are very well engineered and nicely finished products. They require little maintenance and are very easy to use. The sales and service support are excellent. The few issues we have had were resolved online in minutes with a Tykma technician. They make it easy.”Arthur Jones, Director of Manufacturing, Royal Products
“We’ve run two Minilase systems 8-12 hours per day, 5 days per week over the past 2.5 years and have only experienced a few technical problems, which alone makes me a satisfied customer, but why I would recommend working with Tykma is because when we have had problems, they are quick to react and are willing to approach a solution with consideration given to my circumstances. Thank you Aaron and the Tykma crew for enabling us to produce quality marks all year round!”Chris Morgan, COO, Sticky Jewelry
The TYKMA Minilase Manual laser marking system has been a great asset for us. We purchased this equipment recently and were very satisfied for this investment as well as the level of sales and technical support we received from the beginning, during and post-acquisition process.
Comparing to other marking systems in its class, this system is a great value asset. It does have lots of capabilities with very simple and user friendly hardware and software design and easy to use. It is a great system for R&D and production use and a very affordable solution to have a marking system in house.
Thank you very much Adam Johnson, Ed McGee and Tykma team for enabling us to have this capability in house.
